VideoThis video was used to promote the Capital Climate Action, the largest mass civil-disobedience against climate change in U.S. History. This video was used to promote an anti-war action on the 6th anniversary of the Iraq War. This video is used to promote the anti-war actions of the DC Students for a Democratic Society, and to promote the tactic of the militant anti-war disco across the country. The video reportback was featured for a month on the front page of MichaelMoore.com. Since Funk the War 2, there have been over 30 other Funk the War events across the United States. Modeled on VH1's Pop-Up Video, this video exposes John McCain's views on the Supreme Court and gives hints as to whom he might, if president, push into the Supreme Court. This video was created for the organization People for the American Way. This video was a joint effort from the Electronic Frontier Foundation and People For the American Way, to elicit outrage against the granting of immunity to telecom corporations who used wiretapping illegally, as well as to generate more signatures on an online petition. It was featured on the EFF front page, the PFAW homepage, and was shown to US Senators as part of a lobbying campaign against telecom immunity. The user-submitted pictures and video were important to convey the outrage from the general public, and put them in front of their senators. The project was participatory as well as effective. This video depicts a "street theater" action done in front of the capital building, showing how the government, and specifically the Republican party is "in bed with Big Oil." This video was shot on site and edited for Oil Change USA, an environmental organization that works to steer the US government away from the subsidy of fossil fuel energy in favor of clean, renewable energy. |
